Description
The Booster T2 Professional P3 is the top configuration of Booster Robotics' T2 humanoid development platform, and the only one of the three Professional builds fitted with a 6-DOF dexterous hand. The T2 series as a whole is built for embodied AI research, education, RoboCup-style soccer development, manipulation experiments and real-world humanoid application prototyping.
The dexterous hand is the reason to specify this build. Where the P1 leaves the end effector optional and the P2 ships with a gripper, the P3's six actively driven degrees of freedom at the hand open up a class of work the other two cannot represent: in-hand manipulation, finger-level grasp planning, teleoperation and demonstration capture, and any experiment where how an object is held matters as much as whether it is held. Research groups training manipulation policies need exactly that richer action space, and a gripper cannot generate it. Like the P2, the P3 weighs approximately 43 kg.
The rest of the robot is the shared T2 platform: 140 cm tall, 31 total degrees of freedom split as 6 per leg, 7 per arm, 3 at the waist and 2 at the head, with Thor T5000 computing and local air cooling on board. Booster lists binocular cameras in the head and waist, a microphone array and speaker, optional LiDAR, and Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, USB, locking Type-C and Ethernet connectivity. Walking speed is listed at 2 m/s on a 48 V, 10 Ah battery, giving approximately two hours of continuous walking.

A gripper opens and closes; a 6-DOF hand can position and coordinate its digits, which is what in-hand manipulation, finger-level grasp planning and demonstration capture for manipulation policies require. If the task only needs objects picked up and set down, the P2's gripper is simpler to control and model.
